Okay, so on Wednesday, my sister went to the doctor, and got a steroid shot for the babies' lungs.
Then on Thursday, the health nurse came out to her house to do a non-stress test, and give her the second steroid shot. At this time, she also put my sister on bedrest. She was told she could only be up for 10 minutes at a time, only go up and down stairs twice a day, and she needs to eat every three hours.
On Friday, my sister had an ultrasound. At the ultrasound, they did her blood pressure, and it was too high. They basically said, you need to go home, pack a bag, and head into the hospital, because if you don't, your kidneys are going to shut down! So my sister drove home in tears, called my mom, they packed a small bag, and went into the hospital. When they got to the hospital, they checked her blood pressure, and it was fine. They did a non-stress test, and it was fine. They did blood work, and it came back fine! So they sent her home, and said that the health nurse would come again on Sunday.
So this morning, the health nurse called and said she was coming out today, instead of tomorrow. Then a little while later, she called back, and said that they got the results from my sisters ultrasound appointment yesterday, and they she needed to go to the hospital. My sister explained that she was just at the hospital last night, and they sent her home. The nurse said that she needed to go again. They faxed over all of her info, and the hospital would be expecting her. So she packed a small bag, and her and my mom went into the hospital AGAIN!
This time, they admitted her. They said that she will be staying in the hospital until she has her baby. They are hoping to get to next weekend, which will be 32 weeks. I am still not 100% clear on WHY they are keeping her in the hospital, but I think they just want to be able to keep a close eye on both my sister, and the baby.
So this evening, Jade and I went up to visit my sister. We brought her a DVD player, some DVD's, and some Valentines cupcakes we made! She is already board, but is willing to do whatever it takes to keep this baby in and growing for as long as possible!
