Fun Family time :)

Today we went to "The Jungle U-pick Farm" with my mom and dad. They have a hay ride, a corn maze, a bail maze, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, and a lot more fun stuff! Here are some pictures!

Starting to think about Christmas :)

I have been starting to think about Christmas lately! I know it will sneak up on me, so I am trying to start preparing, so that we can have a fun, happy, holiday season!
I have been trying to make Christmas lists for the kids, and it is proving very hard this year! I can honestly say that they really don't need anything! They all have ENOUGH clothes and toys. But obviously we have to get them something, and I know many other people (Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles) that will get them stuff too. Since other family members ALWAYS get them too much stuff, I am going to try and get them a very minimal amount. Since I am trying to simplify and clean out our clutter, I don't want to add a bunch more stuff to the pile! The only problem is, I always feel the need to have a TON of presents under the tree, and stockings stuffed full! This year I really want to focus on the quality time spent with family, and not the material possessions acquired!

When the time is right

I am feeling a lot more calm about things today. I spent a lot of time thinking last night and today, and I realized how deeply I want another baby.
Here is a message I posted on a message board today:

Dh and I were married in June 2005. We lived in a VERY small house (ONE bedroom upstairs!) and dh was working for someone, and didn't have great pay. We started trying for baby #2 right away (I already had dd #1) As you know we had problems, and didn't conceive. In March of 2006, we bought a new house, much bigger than our old one! I also quit my job and started a Dayhome around this time. In July 2006, we finally conceived! A few weeks after finding out we were pregnant, dh was given an opportunity to start up his own business (he is a welder), and make A LOT more money than he was. He debated for a few days, and then we found out we were expecting triplets! We decided to take the risk and go for it, since there was no way we could support our soon-to-be much larger family on what dh was currently making! Looking back, it was DEFINITELY the right decision! I often wondered WHY it took so long to get pregnant, and then I put it all together: We needed to be in a bigger house, have our dd #1 be a little bit older, and be in a position to make the money we would need!

After posting this message, I realized I need to live by my own words! I need to adopt this mentality with my current quest for pregnancy. I am so consumed with wanting to be pregnant RIGHT NOW, but maybe the timing just isn't right. Maybe the triplets need to be a bit older, maybe we need to be closer to moving to our property, who knows. All I know is that I really feel that I am meant to have another baby, and I believe that I will, in His time.

Worried.....

Well, I had my ultrasound today, and now I am worried.
The tech started out by doing a traditional ultrasound. She asked me why I think I might have cysts, so I told her I have had them before, and that at the beginning of this cycle, I was having quite a bit of pain on my left side, around where I think my ovary is. So she was looking and taking pictures and stuff, and then she asked if the pain was more in the front or in the back?? I told her I don't really know. (and I was wondering WHY she was asking that?!?) So then she did the transvaginal ultrasound. Again, she was looking, and taking pictures, and then she pushed the wand to the left side and asked if it hurt when she pushed there. I damn near jumped off the table! I DID hurt, quite a bit! Of course she wouldn't tell me anything, but said that my Dr would have the results tomorrow. I of course don't go in to see him for 2 weeks!!
So now I am freaking out!! I am SURE that it is AT LEAST cysts, I just hope it is nothing worse.

Simplify

I have decided that my new goal is to "Simplify". We, as a society, have too much "stuff"! It think back to the toys, clothes, and nick knacks that I had as a kid, and my kids have WAY more than I ever did! They don't need all that stuff, I was perfectly happy with the little bit that I had! Why do we need so many material things? Does it make us happier? Does it make our lives so much better? I, personally, don't think so.
We live in a small house (only about 930 sf), so that makes it that much harder to have so much stuff, we simply don't have room for it all!
Since going through the basement, I have started to get rid of things we don't use or don't need. Things that have been sitting in boxes since we moved into this house 2 1/2 years ago, and we obviously haven't needed or wanted during that time! I am going to continue this with the rest of the house, and hopefully make more space for us to enjoy life :)

The Basement

I am sure I posted before about how I want to make a playroom in the basement for the kids. Well, I have been busily working on going through stuff, getting rid of stuff, and clearing out the basement, to make room! I am not done yet, but I am getting closer, and I can't wait!! I wish I would have taken a "before" picture, but I will at least take an "after" one when it is done :)

Hayden :)

Hayden is such a sweet little boy! When he is in school, he will be the class clown! He loves doing things to get a laugh from you, and he has his own hilarious little "fake" laugh! He is very laid back, and will usually wait and be last for things if need be (this was first noticed at birth, because he was supposed to be baby B, but ended up being baby C!) He is also starting to develop quite the pout lip, and has a knack for biting his brother and sister when he is mad!

Weekends

I have decided that I really want to start some new traditions with weekends. It seems like all week I look forward to the weekend, but for what? Half the time Gairod isn't even home! He is either working a side job or out hunting or fishing. If he is home he is usually busy outside in the yard or in the garage, and I am stuck in the house looking after the kids! I look forward to the weekend because I want help, and a break from the day to day routine, but I always end up disappointed. I would really like to start doing more family stuff on weekends. I would like to try to have an outing, and if we need to do yard work or housework, I would like to do it together. Since I thrive on routines, I would like to come up with a routine for weekends, one that is different than my normal weekday routine.

FRUSTRATED!!!

I am so frustrated!!! This month I have been watching my cm and cp really closely, because I REALLY want to figure out when and IF I ovulate. I even got some OPK's, and figured as soon as I get a hint of cm, I will start testing. So yesterday, cd 14 (I have never ovulated before cd 18), I started to get some ew like cm, but my cp was still low, hard and closed. I did an OPK last night at about 8pm, and it was negative. Gairod and I "did the deed" last night anyway, and this morning my temp was up! It was 36.7, which it NEVER is, except for post-O! WTH!? Sure enough my cp was high, soft and open this morning, and I have LOTS of ewcm! So did I ovulate already?! Did I miss my LH surge, and that is why my OPK was negative?! I hate this! Why does making a baby have to be so hard?? Sometimes I wonder if all of my charting knowledge is really a good thing or not? It really doesn't seem to help me figure things out, just makes me wonder more!

I'm Back!

I am finally feeling motivated again :)

For some reason, over the past year, I keep going through phases where I just don't feel motivated to do anything. I don't know if it is a bit of depression or what, but I don't feel like cleaning, I don't feel like eating healthy or exercising, I just feel like sitting on the couch, eating junk and watching tv. That is how I have been feeling for the past several weeks, and I finally feel like I am coming out of it! I am determined to start losing weight again, I am up 10lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight with the triplets, and I am NOT happy with that. A few months ago, I was 7lbs BELOW my pre-preg weight, so basically I have put on 17 pounds in a few months - NOT GOOD! I know some of it is because I went off the bc pill, that always seems to make me gain weight, which I am pretty sure is linked to my PCOS.
Anyways, I have started making weekly meal plans to plan out dinners, and making a meal for the freezer each week! I have also started to get back on track with my daily cleaning plan, and am now TRYING to get my eating back on track! I really do have some great ideas about staying organized and on top of things, I just need to consistently follow through with them!
I have also decided to clear out the big room in the basement to make another play room for the kids! Winter will be coming soon, and we will be couped up inside, and our living room seems to be getting smaller by the day! SOOO, I am going to bring some of the bigger outside toys in, and have the basement be a "big toy" play room where the kids can run around and play in the winter! I will post some pics when I get it done!

Germs!

I always used to roll my eyes at people who talked about how many germs kids bring home from school, but not any more! Seriously!!! Jade has been back to school for 2 weeks, and I already have 3/4 kids with colds, and I can feel my throat getting scratchy too! Last winter it seemed like we had a never-ending cycle of colds going through our house, someone was always sick! I REALLY don't want a repeat this year, I have got to figure out how to cut down on the germs..........anyone have any ideas????

Interesting weekend!

Wow, I can't believe I haven't written anything since Wednesday!!
Well, on Friday we headed up to Mallaig (3h north of Edmonton) for a 50th Wedding Anniversary party! It was fun! The kids were good, and after they went to bed, I had a few drinks, which was nice, I haven't drank in a LONG time! The evening was going good, until my ex-boyfriend (grandson of the anniversary couple) who had had a few too many, started talking to me about how he is still in love with me, and wishes he hadn't messed things up, and isn't happy in his current relationship, and still thinks about me all the time, etc! That was a little awkward.......to say the least!

Here is the back story: Long story short, we dated in high school, I was in love with him, wanted to marry him, etc. He was too immature to handle a serious relationship and eventually ended it. I was heart-broken, hooked up with someone else shortly after, and got pregnant with Jade. Ex's mom kept in touch with me. She always liked me, and really wanted me and her son to end up together. Throughout my pregnancy and while Jade was a baby, I had regular lunch dates with her! Ex was in Australia at this time. Just after Jade turned 2, Gairod (my husband) and I got together, he was actually another Ex, from when I was 15. At that point I was the one too immature for a serious relationship! Anyways, Ex #1's mom and I went for lunch and I told her I had started dating Gairod. She was not very happy, and said I should be with her son! A few days later, he called me, for the first time in about 3 years, but I pretty much brushed him off. Things moved pretty fast with Gairod, and within 6 months we were engaged, and another 6 and we were married :)

So, I have seen Ex at many different events over the past 4 years, since we are friends with some of his extended family. I have always felt a little awkward, just because things ended badly with us, (I was very hurt, and wanted him back for a LONG time) and I knew he had become interested in me again right at the time I had started dating Gairod, but it was "too little, too late"!

Now, I have to clarify, that I am VERY happily married, and would never even consider leaving Gairod for Ex! But I do have to say that it is kind of flattering to know that Ex still has a thing for me!

Yay :)

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I have been so tired lately, and in such a bad mood, I don't really know what my problem is..........
Anyway, I had my Dr appointment yesterday, and it went well! Except for the fact that Hayden was being a brat and screaming the whole time in the waiting room, and of course it just HAD to be a day that the mean nurse was working, so she kept on glaring at me, but what did she expect me to do?? They have no toys or books for kids, and they were running 30 minutes behind!! Next time I will leave all 3 of them with sitters and just go by myself!
So, I talked to Dr Docksteader, and told him that I think my progesterone might be low, and that I am a little worried about cysts again. So he is sending me in for a day-21 progesterone test, and an ultrasound to check for cysts. Then he wants to see me again, and we will discuss the results and any options! I am so happy, but also a little stressed, because more appointments means needing to find babysitters, which is NOT easy, especially since I refuse to ask one person to watch all three, so I need to find 2-3 different people EACH time! He did mention that Clomid is one way to remedy a luteal phase deficiency, but we might want to avoid that, since I seem to be "sensitive" to it! LOL!

18 month Pics!

Since the triplets turned 18 months old on Friday September 5th, I thought I would post some pictures of them!

Kadance

Hayden

Cole

My crazy trio!

18 months!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted, but we had a busy weekend! We had our family reunion this weekend, so we really weren't home much!

Anyways, the triplets had their 18 month shots today, and they did surprisingly well! They each only cried for a few seconds right after the needles (one in each arm) and then they were fine!! And it was even at nap time! I booked the shots when they were still having 2 naps a day, and their morning one was more important, so I booked them in for 1pm. Now, that is right in the middle of nap time! So I put them down for a little while this morning, and then tried to put them down again after picking up Jade from school, but only Cole is sleeping, the other 2 are awake! Hayden napped some in the van at least, but Kadance hasn't slept at all since this morning!

So tomorrow I go for my appointment with Dr. Docksteader, he is my OBGYN. I am a little nervous, because I really don't know what I am going to ask him! When I originally booked the appointment, I wasn't ovulating, but now it looks like I have been the last few months, so I really hope he doesn't think I am coming in for nothing, and just send me home! I am hoping that he will at least order some blood tests, a 21-day progesterone, and maybe some other hormone checks, just to see if I am for sure ovulating or not! And I might see if he will order an ultrasound, since I was having some pain early this cycle, I am worried about ovarian cysts again, especially since that is what caused me to stop ovulating last time. I really wish I would have just gotten pregnant already, then I wouldn't have to be dealing with any of this!

Finally.....

Okay, I know it's been a few days since I posted, but Jade started Grade 1 on Tuesday, and it has been a busy week!
So by 18 dpo (yesterday), I still didn't have my period, so I took another pregnancy test, and it was negative.
But finally this morning I got it. I am happy to finally be done this crazy cycle, but frustrated because now I don't know if I really am ovulating when I think I am or not! I ordered a bunch of ovulation predictor strips today, so I plan on testing this month to see. Also, I have my appointment with my obgyn on Tuesday, but I really don't know if he will be able to do anything, since I *looks* like I am ovulating. I am hoping that he will at least order a Day 21 progesterone test, and I will talk to him about a progesterone supplement, since I still think I might be a bit low. Well, I am exhausted, and going to bed!

Still wondering!

I didn't realize until this morning that I forgot to update last night!
I am now 16 dpo, my temp is still up, and still no period.
Although I am starting to get more convinced that I am NOT pregnant, and that my period will show very soon. Last night I had a TINY bit of brownish when I wiped, so I am sure my period is on it's way. Now I just want it to hurry up and come so that I can get over it and move on to a new cycle!
