So I think that the last time I wrote about Cole's speech, was right after we had his assessment, back at the beginning of November. To read that post, click here. The speech therapist had said he was moderately delayed in both speech and language, but that she would mail the official report after she finished marking all his tests.
When we got the official results in the mail, they said that he is moderately delayed in language, but SEVERELY delayed in speech!
We still had to go to the parent sessions, then 5 weeks after that we were supposed to call back the speech pathologist and get him on ANOTHER waiting list for individual therapy!
We just finished the parent sessions a week ago, and the speech pathologist called today to set up a 5 week block of individual therapy for him starting at the beginning of January!
I am SO happy that they are getting him in right away, and we DO NOT have to wait forever to get him started!!

Yeah for the speech therapy road if it's needed! Just a warning from someone who did this from age 2 through age 6, it may seem there are chunks where nothing is happening and then wham, huge leaps. In one school year, Logan went from not much change to over the summer jumping from "severe" need to "mild." and graduating to speech in his kindergarten-woohoo! I was recently watching old vidoes and can hardly remember that he used to be hard to understand. He never stops talking now! Hope you have great results!Also, some kids get results really fast!
