Kadance got her ears pierced!!

Yesterday, we were FINALLY able to get Kadances ears pierced! We have wanted to do it for SOOO long, but she has such small ear lobes, that we have had to wait! I am so glad we got them done, they look SOOO cute!! I was a little worried, since she wouldn't even let the lady near her to mark her ears. Finally I had to just hold her head. She marked them, and then pierced them (one at a time, since they only had one gun). She cried when they did them, but they gave her a Dora sticker right after and she was fine!

Sex

So, for most people this would probably seem like a pretty personal topic, but I am wondering if I am weird?!

When I was pregnant with Jade, I was single, so sex was never an issue, or an option!

Early on with the triplets, and with this pregnancy, I am bloated, tired and queasy, so I really don't want to be touched. I am also one of those weird people that is afraid sex is going to hurt the baby, or cause a miscarriage.

With the triplets, I got so big, so fast, that I was uncomfortable, and felt unattractive, VERY early on. Poor Gairod had to practically beg me for sex, and we really only did it probably a handful of times the entire 7 1/2 months!

I am wondering if things will be better this time around? So far it is the same as with the triplets, but this time I shouldn't get so big, so fast, so maybe there will be a period where I actually enjoy and want sex?? I don't know. I feel so bad for Gairod! He thinks that "now that you're pregnant, you don't need me anymore" which isn't true! I really just don't get in the mood!

Am I the only weirdo who doesn't really like having sex when they are pregnant?!?

I am losing my mind!!

Well, it seem that 'pregnancy brain' has totally set in! LOL!

I was freaking out about finding skates and a helmet, finally found some, and sent Jade to school with them today. After school, she came out without her skates and helmet. I said "Why didn't you bring your skates and helmet out, are you just going to leave them at school to use tomorrow?" and she said "NO, we didn't even have skating today!!" Then another mom standing beside me informed me that skating isn't until NEXT week!

Seriously!?! I have no idea why I thought it was THIS week, when I got home I checked the form, and it clearly says February 2nd - 12th. I DO NOT know where I got January 26th from!?

I am losing it!!

interesting......

How come when I am trying to keep a secret, everyone keeps saying things that make me want to spill the beans?!?

My grandma called the other day, to ask me what she should get me sister for a baby gift. She made a comment about how my sister probably has lots of stuff, because I have probably given her all my baby stuff. I said that no, I actually sold and gave away all of my baby stuff before Christine got pregnant. Then she said "You better make sure YOU don't need it again!!" I wanted to say 'actually, I AM pregnant, and I will need baby stuff!' but of course I didn't I just said "If we do, I guess we'll just have to buy it all again!"

Then last night, we were at a wedding, and some of Gairod's friends who we were there with, were talking about how 'everyone' is pregnant right now. I just wanted to shout "So are we!!!" but of course I didn't, I just kept my mouth shut!!

This is killing me! I can't stand keeping this a secret, I just want to tell everyone I see "I'm pregnant!!" One and a half weeks until my ultrasound, then we can tell. I can do it, I can wait one and a half more weeks.

Always trust your instincts!

Well, I should have known to just trust my gut! When I went to the doctor on Monday, I was positive that I had tonsillitis, but he wasn't so sure, so I thought well, maybe it is just viral, and I am just being a wimp! Well, Monday evening, my throat hurt so bad I could hardly swallow or talk! I was in so much pain!! Tuesday I still felt really crappy. Finally Wednesday, I started to perk up and feel a bit better, and of course that is the day the doctor called and said that my throat swab came back positive for strep!!! See?! I KNEW something was wrong!! I think sometimes doctors forget that some patients actually know their bodies quite well, and they should listen to them! So I started Penicillin on Wednesday, instead of on Monday, when I really needed it!!

Anyways, as far as pregnancy goes, things are going well. Not much happening, but it is still early! The only thing I am not liking about this pregnancy, is that I seem to have an overwhelming fear of miscarriage. With my other two pregnancies, miscarriage was never something I really thought about. But I was also kind of naive to the whole concept of miscarriage, I didn't think it really happened that often. Now, after spending so much time on Baby Center, and after a few real life friends have had miscarriages, I realize that it is a lot more common then I once thought. I don't WANT to worry about it, I want to enjoy every part of this pregnancy, but I can't help thinking about it everyday! I am hoping that after I have my ultrasound, see my baby, and hear the heartbeat, I will feel better about things and relax a little more!

Don't mess with a pregnant woman!!

So I am quite angry right now! At Jade's school, every January, they do two weeks of ice skating, as part of their PE program. We found this out last year, when we had to scramble to find ice skates, and a CSA approved helmet! In Kindergarten, they actually only did two, forty-five minute skating sessions! This year, since she is in grade one, they are doing four, forty-five minute sessions.

We don't skate. Gairod plays hockey, but I have never been a big skater, and with the triplets, skating hasn't really been a family activity for the past few years!!

I ticks me off that they expect us (the parents) to get stressed out running around trying to find skates and helmets to borrow! Yes, I could buy them, but why?? It's not like Jade is going to be going skating any other time this year, and by next year they will be too small! If they want to do ice skating as part of their PE program, they should provide the equipment. Simple as that!

So I am writing a letter to the school, stating my concerns. A friend of mine sent me a website to a company that some of the elementary schools in Calgary use. It is called Alien In-line. They come out to your school, bring all the equipment, and teach the kids how to in-line skate! I think that it is a wonderful idea!

It's not like I am against ice skating or anything, it's just that not everyone does it, therefore not everyone has the equipment, so I don't think it is fair to expect people to go out of their way to get it!

Some dates to look forward to!

So I went to the doctor today, just to confirm my pregnancy, and set up some appointments!

I have my first prenatal appointment booked for February 23rd, one day before 10 weeks! I hate that you have to wait so long to start prenatal appointments, that's another 5 weeks away!!

The good news is I convinced my doctor to let me go for an early ultrasound to "date" my pregnancy. Well, really, I know EXACTLY when I got pregnant, but I just want to see the heartbeat, and make sure there is only one precious little bean in there! I am doing that on February 5th, so I will be just over 7 weeks.

Other than that, things have been going well. I am quite tired, and have to pee quite frequently, oh and my lower back is very sore, but those are all normal pregnancy symptoms for me! Over the weekend I was feeling very achy, chilled, headache, and my throat has been hurting, so I thought I might have tonsillitis, but the doctor checked today, and he doesn't think it looks too bad. He did take a swab, so if it is positive they will get me on some antibiotics.

Letter to Family

Since I am a little worried about how our families will initially react to our pregnancy news, I have decided to write a letter/poem, that we will mail to them! I think we will wait until after we have an ultrasound, just to make sure that there is only one!! How does this sound??

We want to let you know,
About a gift that's on it's way,
You probably aren't expecting it,
But we've prayed for it every day!

We love our children very much,
They make us feel so alive!
So far we've been blessed with four,
But soon we will have five!

We want you to be happy,
Not angry, or sad at all,
So once you've had time to think about this,
Feel free to give us a call!

I still can't believe it!

I still can't believe I am pregnant!! I walked around the house in a daze yesterday, and got absolutely NOTHING done! lol!

When Gairod got home from work yesterday, I waited until the triplets were in bed, and Jade was in another room, and I said "We NEED to start working on the bedroom in the basement". He was just sitting down on the couch to eat his supper, and I was in the kitchen doing dishes. He said "yeah". So I said, "Did you hear me? We NEED to!" He just kind of looked at me, so I said "Do you want to know WHY we NEED to??" He said "Why?" I said "Because I'm pregnant!!" Right after I said that, his parents came in the door! So our conversation had to be put on hold, since his mom was here to help him with his books. Finally a few hours later she left. Then Gairod said congratulations, and gave me a hug!

It still doesn't feel real! I have wanted this for so long, and now I finally have it! I want to cherish every moment of this pregnancy! My mind is racing, we have so much to do, so much to figure out, and only 8 short months to do it all!! I need to relax, slow down, and take it one step at a time. I am pregnant. I am happy!
