I swear I am still alive, and doing very well! :) I have SO much to update on, but we still have no home Internet, and posting from my phone sucks!
We have been in our new house for just over a month now! Things are going great. We are all LOVING it here!! We are hoping to get home Internet soon, and then I promise I will start posting again, and fill you in on what's been happening in our lives! :)
I'm a homeschooling, homesteading, mama of 6! We are not exactly a "typical" family, and that's just the way we like it!

I'm Still Alive!
We are all moved into our new house, and I survived the process! LOL! We just have a few more things to finish up at the old house (including getting our hot tub moved!), before the renters move in on Thursday.
It has been an exhausting couple of weeks, but the kids have done AMAZINGLY well, and as I said before, I survived, so I'm happy!
I'm looking forward to getting things unpacked and organized around here. We have SO much more space here then we did at our old house! Instead of trying to figure out where something will fit, I have to decide which is the best spot for it, since I have so many options!!
We don't have Internet set up yet, so I can't post all the pictures off my camera, but I will try to post a few from my phone.

Possession Day!!!
Possession day is finally here - I can't believe it!! LOL! Unfortunately, Gairod also has his 6 month CFD exam this afternoon too! Talk about crappy timing! We got our realtor to arrange with the other realtor, to let us do our walk through this morning. We won't "technically" get possession until this afternoon, but since Gairod will be in Calgary writing his exam, we wouldn't be able to do our walk-through. So in about an hour, we are heading out to our new house!!
Tomorrow the real work will begin. We have Gairod's cargo trailer loaded with garage stuff, and his utility trailer loaded with firewood. We plan on leaving this house at 8am tomorrow morning, taking both trailers out at once (we are borrowing Gairod's dad's truck), and unloading them. Then the kids and I will have to come back to Crossfield around 11:30am, drop off the utility trailer, and head into Airdrie for swimming lesson. Gairod will stay out at the new house for the afternoon, and hopefully get a fenced off area set up for our dog.
Gairod has to work days on Saturday and Sunday, so my mom is planning on coming out to the new house with me and the kids both those days, so we can get it all cleaned, and ready to start moving things into the house! :)
I am so excited for our new life to begin! :)

Happy 5th Birthday Kadance, Cole, and Hayden!
On Monday March 5th, Kadance, Cole, and Hayden turned 5 years old! They had a GREAT birthday!!
Gairod worked the night shift on Sunday, so he was already in Calgary on Monday morning. The kids and I got up and ready to go, and met him at Village Square Leisure Center, to go swimming for the morning! The kids were all excited, because we don't normally go to this pool, and it has a few waterslides. It was perfect. We were in the water by 9:30am, and aside from a few elderly people, we were the only ones in the whole place!
After we were done swimming, we went to Crossiron Mills mall, and had lunch in the food court. I should mention that we didn't tell the kids any of what we would be doing before hand, so the whole day was a surprise to them! :)
After we had lunch, we went to Toys R Us, and let Kadance, Cole, and Hayden each pick out a new bike for their birthday presents!! They were SO happy!! They LOVE riding bikes, and their current ones are too small, so it was a perfect birthday gift!
After we were done at the mall, we popped over to Costco to pick up a few things for their birthday party, and then into Airdrie to pick up Cole's cake. (He wanted a DQ ice cream cake, the other 2 wanted homemade cakes) Then we headed home to get ready for the party! :)
We decided to just have a really simple party this year, pizza and cake, and only family. Unfortunately half of our family ended up sick that day, so only half were able to make it to the party. My parents, Gairod's parents, and Gairod's brother Kody, his wife, and their little boy, were the only ones able to come. I was kind of disappointed at first, but to be honest, I am kind of getting used to it. We seem to have quite a few family members and friends who either back out at the last minute, or are never able to get together anymore. If they can't make the time for us when we only live 10 minutes away, I am SURE they won't make time for us when we are an hour away. Time to just cut our loses, and stop letting bad family members and friends drag us down!
ANYWAYS, back to the party. The kids had a great time, and that is ALL that really matters!

1 More Week!
One week from today, we get possession of our house!! I can't wait! I am SO ready to just get on with moving already!! I am up to 95 boxes packed, and I am trying to pack a few more each day, weeding out whatever we can live without for the next 2 weeks!!

5.
I am feeling much better about the email thing. I opened up a hotmail account, and I now have almost all of my email stuff moved over - crisis averted! lol! Seriously though, I am trying to just stay calm, and take things in stride. I am sure there will be several things come up over the next few weeks, that will have the potential to send me over the edge. I am just going to try and remind myself that "this too shall pass", and try not to get TOO stressed out over stuff that I have no control over, or that won't really matter in the long run! Moving on.
Tomorrow, my three precious miracles, will be 5 years old! HOW did that happen?! How have they possibly grown from three tiny little 4 pound preemies, that fit in my belly, into the wonderful, precious "big kids" they are today!?
I'm having a hard time with "5". It's a big number for little kids. "5" bridges the gap from "preschool age" to "school age". 5 sounds old!
Kadance, Cole and Hayden are excited about turning 5. They have been counting down the number of sleeps until their birthday for the past week! This morning, as soon as Hayden woke up he said "Only 1 more sleep Mom!" :)
Since we are in the middle of packing and on the brink of moving, I decided not to do a big party this year. We simply don't have the money to spend, and I really didn't think it would be wise to add one more thing to my list of things to do and things to stress me out! Instead, I let each of them tell me exactly what they want for a cake, and we will have 3 separate, completely non-relating cakes! Gairod is off work tomorrow, so I think we will take the day off of school, and probably go swimming. Then we are having our families over for dinner and cake!
This will be our last get-together, and last birthday, in this house. Kadance, Cole, and Hayden have lived their entire first 5 years in this house. This house is FULL of memories.....*sniff, sniff*....

Technology.
For the past few weeks, I've been thinking of doing a post on spending less time on the computer. I know I waste way too much time on the computer each day, and I could get a lot more done around the house if I put a time limit on my computer time.
Right now, our computer is in our living room, which is a central place in our house. Basically, it's too conveniently placed! I can easily pop onto the computer for "a few minutes", at any time during the day or evening. When we move to our new house, our computer will be in a office, out of the way, and less "convenient". I am honestly looking forward to this, since like I said before, I know I spend too much time on the computer, and I know that this will encourage me to not waste so much time! :)
The ironic thing is, over the past few days, I have been totally stressed out over trying to figure out how to get internet and email at our new house. Since we will be on an acreage, we can't get the same high-speed internet through the same company that we do right now. We will have to get satellite internet, through a different company, which means I will be losing my email address, and to top it all off, it's going to cost more. I am kind of embarrassed about how much this is stressing me out. I've never really thought I was too reliant on technology (remember when I first got my iphone?), but over the past few days, I have realized that I am okay with less technology when it's on my terms, but not necessarily when I don't have a choice in the matter!
I know that ultimately, it all boils down to change. I've mentioned several times before, that I don't do well with change. Well, moving is a BIG change. I know that it will all be for the better, but all of the little changes that go along with it - new mailing address, new phone number, new email address - are completely stressing me out!! I don't like the idea of having to change ALL of my contact info at the same time. It's stupid, I know, but it's how I feel.

More Packing Progress :)
I got into another packing kick this past week, and I am now up to 63 boxes, not including the ones Gairod has packed in the garage. Yes, I am a big dork, and I actually counted all the boxes. ;) Not all of them are in the picture, as some are in the kids closets.
We now have just under 3 weeks to possession, and 4 weeks to moving day! I am kind of at another stand-still, and need to wait another week or two to be able to pack a bunch more stuff!

Change.
After chatting with a good friend on Friday, I think I've figured out what my problem is right now.
I think I am just really nervous/anxious about moving. Moving is change, and change scares me. Don't get me wrong, I AM excited about moving, but I am nervous and stressed about all of the unknowns. I am a planner, and I like to be in control, and I feel like right now, so many things are out of my control, and I can't plan anything in my life past March.
I'm not too worried about the actual moving process - I know that packing and moving all of our possessions is going to be stressful and crazy, but honestly that part doesn't bug me too much. I can plan that part - to some extent! lol!
The part that I am most anxious about, and haven't really even admitted to myself until now, is the part that comes after. Actually living on an acreage, 45 minutes away our current home, and almost an hour away from where we spend a lot of time, getting groceries, doing speech therapy, swimming, going to the library, etc.
I am excited, but nervous, about our new life. I am excited about all of the possibilities, the space, and the fact that we are finally going to be living in a place where we can start moving towards the lifestyle that we want for our family.
But I am nervous about all of the unknowns, and the distance from everything, including family and friends. I'm nervous about living on a acreage! I've always lived in a town, and so has Gairod, so this will be a new thing for both of us. I'm nervous for when he is working nights, and I am all alone out there with the kids. I am nervous about the loss of "freedom" to just call up a friend and have them come for coffee that afternoon, or to just "pop into" Airdrie on a whim.
It's going to be a lifestyle change, and honestly, I am happy about it, but I am also nervous and anxious, and I know it will take some getting used to. I just want to hurry up and move, so that I can start getting used to my new life!

What is it with February?!
I don't know what it is with February, but it really seems to be a month that just doesn't agree with me.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with PPD in February.
Last year, I slipped on some ice, hit my head, and ended up with a major concussion in February.
I lack motivation in February, I have bad luck in February, and I get depressed in February.
I used to think that maybe it was the weather, but this winter has been exceptionally mild, and I have made a point to get out and soak up the vitamin D, and yet I still feel unmotivated and blue.
I don't know what my problem is, I just don't really feel like doing anything. I have been eating like crap, which makes me feel like crap, yet I can't seem to motivate myself to start eating healthy again. I have tons of packing to do, but I am struggling with it, and would rather sit around doing nothing all day. I just feel blah. I know I am just in a funk, and I will eventually come out of it, but it is frustrating me.
Why does February seem to hate me so much?!
