Poor Cole!

Poor Cole does NOT react very well to mosquito bites! Ever since he was a year old, he has gotten big, swollen, hard welts. They usually start out like a regular mosquito bite, but by the next day they are swollen up, and they continue to swell for another day or two, and then start to go down.

Every summer we wait to see if he is going to react to them again, or if he has outgrown it. If he reacts, we start him on a daily dose of Kids Clairitin, which helps to lessen his reaction. So far, for the last three summers, he has reacted :(

The first summer he reacted, he got bit by his eye, and this is what it ended up looking like!


This weekend the kids were outside playing all weekend, and there were a few mosquitoes around. On Sunday, he had a golf ball size lump on his arm, from a mosquito bite. Apparently at some point on Sunday he got bit by the eye, but I didn't even know until Monday morning, when he woke up looking like this:

This morning he looked even worse, as the swelling spread to under his eye, as well as over top of it.

So, it looks like I will be picking up some Kids Clairitin when I go grocery shopping later today :(
